Oro Nitakun Okan. Chapter – 2.

THE SPIDER WEB OF THOUGHTS

1. Thoughts Are Not Free

Many people think thoughts come and go without meaning. This is not true. Every
thought has a source, and every thought is connected to a word.
A thought does not appear by itself.
It is born from a word you heard, a word you spoke, or a word you accepted.
The Bible says:
“For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.”
— Romans 8:6
The condition of the mind determines the condition of life.
Every thought has a source, a reason, and a direction.
When a thought enters the mind, it is not always harmless. Many times, it comes
carrying worry, suspicion, or fear.
For example
, your wife goes to the market and stays longer than expected. Suddenly,
a thought comes into your mind: “Maybe she has gone to another man’s house.” This
thought did not come from truth; it came from assumption.
If that thought is not arrested immediately, it will continue to grow. As it grows, it
begins to produce emotions—anger, suspicion, and bitterness. When your wife finally
returns, that thought may turn into words, and those words may attack her, even
though she has done nothing wrong.
If the thought is not spoken out but kept inside, it will still work secretly. It will grow
into hatred, mistrust, and emotional distance toward her.
This is how thoughts operate.
A thought is like a spider. It does not capture its victim instantly; it patiently weaves a
web in the mind. If the web is not broken early, it will eventually trap relationships,
peace, and love.
Thoughts are not neutral.
Every thought is either building or destroying.
“Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalted itself against the
knowledge of God.”
— 2 Corinthians 10:5

2, Yoruba Wisdom on the Mind

Yoruba elders understood the power of the mind long before today.
“Ohun tĂ a bĂĄ rĂČ lĂłkĂ n, lĂ  Ƅ rĂ nĂta.”
What a person thinks in the heart is what appears outwardly.
This agrees perfectly with Scripture:
“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”
— Proverbs 4:23
Life flows from the mind.
A trapped mind produces a trapped life.
When the mind is imprisoned, the body cannot be free. Many people are physically
free, yet mentally bound. They can move, talk, and work, but their lives do not move
forward because their minds are held captive by wrong thoughts.
Do not allow thoughts to trap your mind, because once the mind is trapped, it will
trap the body and control the direction of your life.
The mind is the control center of destiny. Whatever controls your mind will
eventually control your actions, your decisions, and your future.
This is why negative thoughts are dangerous. They may look small at first, but if they
are allowed to stay, they become chains that bind the whole life.
Freedom does not begin in the body; it begins in the mind.
“As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.”
— Proverbs 23:7
Break the trap in the mind, and the life will be free.

3. How the Spider Builds the Web

A spider does not rush. It builds patiently.
In the same way, satan does not trap people suddenly. He introduces small thoughts
again and again until they become normal.
“You are not good enough”
“God will not answer you”
“You will fail again”
“This is how your life will always be”
These thoughts look harmless, but they are threads. When enough threads are
woven, the mind becomes trapped.
“Neither give place to the devil.”
— Ephesians 4:27
Every accepted negative thought gives the devil space to operate.
The devil does not enter a life suddenly; he looks for permission. That permission is
often given through thoughts. When a negative thought is welcomed, believed, and
allowed to stay, it becomes an open door.
This is why believers must be watchful over their minds. Not every thought deserves
attention, and not every thought should be entertained. Some thoughts must be
confronted immediately.
Whenever the devil brings a bad thought, rebuke it at once. Do not argue with it, and
do not keep it in your mind. Replace it with the truth of God’s Word.
Silence toward a wrong thought is agreement. Resistance brings victory.
“Neither give place to the devil.”
— Ephesians 4:27
Guard your mind, and you guard your life.

4. Mental Webs Become Strongholds

When thoughts repeat themselves, they become strongholds.
“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the
pulling down of strongholds.”
— 2 Corinthians 10:4
A stronghold is a thought pattern that resists truth.
Yoruba proverb says:
“ÀáčŁĂ  tĂ a bĂĄ kọ́ sĂlĂšÌŁ, kĂŹ Ă rọrĂčn lĂĄti yọ.”
A habit that has settled is not easy to remove.
Strongholds do not leave easily because they have been fed with words for years.
Every repeated lie becomes nourishment. Every negative confession adds strength.
Over time, these words harden into mental structures that resist change.
This is why freedom often feels like a process. What took years to build cannot
always collapse in a moment. Oro nĂtakĂčn ọkĂ n is patient—it weaves slowly, layer by
layer, through words and thoughts that are never challenged.
Strongholds fall when their food supply is cut off and replaced with truth. Consistent
confession of God’s Word weakens what years of lies have strengthened.
“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the
pulling down of strongholds.”
— 2 Corinthians 10:4
Starve the lie, feed the truth, and the stronghold will fall.

5. Fear: The Strongest Web

Fear is one of the strongest mental webs.
“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a
sound mind.”
— 2 Timothy 1:7
Fear is not from God.
It is a spirit, and it enters through words.
“Ọ̀rọ̀ burĂșkĂș kĂŹ Ă dĂĄni lĂłrĂ rere.”
Evil words never produce good outcomes.
Words of fear create fearful futures.
Fear spoken today becomes limitation tomorrow. What is continually confessed
begins to shape expectation, and expectation shapes destiny.
This is how oro nĂtakĂčn ọkĂ n operates. Fearful words weave webs in the mind,
training the heart to expect failure, danger, or loss—even when God has spoken
peace.
Words do not only describe the future; they help design it. When fear is allowed to
speak, it prepares the ground for bondage.
“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a
sound mind.”
— 2 Timothy 1:7
Silence fear, speak faith, and the future will change.

6. Breaking the Web Starts with Awareness

You cannot break a web you do not see.
Jesus said:
“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
— John 8:32
Truth exposes the web.
Exposure weakens the web.
God’s Word destroys the web.
What words have built, God’s Word has the power to tear down. Lies may weave
slowly, but truth breaks instantly. The moment God’s Word is believed, spoken, and
applied, mental webs begin to collapse.
This is the final authority over oro nĂtakĂčn ọkĂ n. No web can survive the light of
truth. Fear, deception, and strongholds lose their grip when confronted by the Word of
God.
God’s Word does not argue with lies; it replaces them.
“Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the
rock in pieces?”
— Jeremiah 23:29
Release the Word, and the web will fall.

PRAYER POINTS–CHAPTER TWO

Father, open my eyes to every wrong thought controlling my mind, in Jesus’name.
Every mental web formed by negative words, break by the power of the Word of
God.
I pull down every stronghold of fear, doubt, and unbelief in my mind.
Let the fire of the Holy Spirit cleanse my mind from old poisonous words.
I receive the mind of Christ; my thoughts align with God’s truth.
(1 Corinthians 2:16.)
